Nara Weather in March

 Considering the unstable Nara weather in March, it would be better to wear several layers which can be put on or taken off conveniently according to the temperature change. In particular, visitors could wear thicker clothes in early March, such as thin sweater, thick jacket and thick trousers, and prepare a scarf to handle sudden temperature drop. Travel to Nara in March, the Shuni-e Ceremony or called Omizutori is a grand festival that you can’t miss. It lasts from March 1st to 14th, and monks, carrying giant torches, run back and forth along the corridor at Nigatsu-do Hall of Todai-ji Temple after sunset. It must be a spectacular scene to see in Nara in March. Meanwhile, the giant Buddha statue in Todai-ji Temple is also worth a visit. Cherry blossom is another must-see in Japan, and in Nara, it begins to flower in late March. Mount Wakakusa, Saho River and many old temples are wonderful spots for appreciating stunning cherry blossoms. Nara is well-known for Buddhist art as well, and visitors can learn about it at Nara National Museum preserving priceless Buddhist wares.
