Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS)

Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) was founded on 1st August, 1946 when its parent companies in Denmark, Sweden and Norway united and began a co-ordinate intercontinental transport operation. It has adopted 'Consideration, Reliability, Value Creation and Openness' as its key values. After a development period of several decades, it is now ranked as the fourth largest airline in Europe. It owns a fleet of more than 300 aircraft and operates, on average, over 1,500 flights per day to more than 100 destinations around the world.

In August 1998, Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) began operating non-stop flights between Copenhagen and Beijing, and Copenhagen and Shanghai. On 25th March, 2007, it began a round-trip flight between Stockholm and Beijing, operating 4 flights per week. It's determined to increase its flights and passenger numbers between China and Europe in the near future.

The headquarter of Scandinavian Airlines System is located in Stockholm, Sweden. The air transport hub includes Copenhagen Airport, Oslo International Airport and Stockholm Arlanda International Airport.

Prize and Credit:

The Scandinavian Airlines System has set up a leading and innovative airline figure for many years. In 1952, it was the first airlines in the world to introduce the traveler flight class, after which the whole aviation industry imitated. In 1962, it won the Christopher Columbus Prize which recorded its pioneering work of flying via the North Pole. In the early 1980s, it created the brand-new business travel concept, which is called SAS Euro Class. In 1984, it won the award of Best Airlines of the Year.

What's more, the Scandinavian Airlines has begun its comprehensive restructuring plan. It has planed to improve any kind of external features, such as plane paintings, uniforms, and logo prints. It always holds the basic concept of design, that is, efficient, simple, elegant and rationally utilizing resources.
