Hanoi Weather in May

Hanoi weather in May just declares that summer is coming. The temperatures increase obviously. The average temperature keeps between 24℃(75℉) and 32℃(90℉) while the highest temperature may soar to over 35℃(95℉) in the late month. It is not so recommended to take part in some outdoor activities in the afternoon. Tropical depressions sometimes also occur in May, which may bring several cool days.

According to its historical data, the average precipitation increases significantly to reach 188mm and there are a total of 14 rainy days on average. Sudden downpours may occur from time to time. However, for a better travel experience, it is recommended to go sightseeing at these outdoor attractions in the morning or evening to avoid the heat. In the afternoon, you’d better take part in some indoor entertainment. In May, Giong Festival may take place, which generally falls on the 9th day of the fourth lunar month. The festival is held at Phu Dong Village in Gia Lam District to commemorate a great hero of Vietnamese mythology. Various types of activities and celebrations offer you a chance to have a glimpse of traditional Vietnamese culture.
