Seaside Vacation by West Coast or Gulf of Thailand

In May, you could spend your vacation by the West Coast or Gulf of Thailand, where is much sunnier than the East Coast of Thailand. The places like Marukataiyawan Palace on the seaside and Phra Nakhon Khiri Museum on the hills are also characteristic places to visit in Hua Hin.

Join in Ceremonies on Vesak Day

Thailand is known as a country with thousands of Buddhas. The Vesak Day (Visakaha Bucha) on May 11th, 2025 is the most important festival among the 48 Buddhism Festivals in Thailand. You can join the ceremony of Vesak Day in the temples like the Wat Phra Kaew, Wat Pho, Wat Arun and so on in Bangkok. The Buddhists in will go to the temples in the early morning to eat foods, give alms to the monks, and listen to the sermons from the eminent monks. The monks will lead the people to bath the Buddha Statue and then hold the candles and flowers walking around the temple to get blessings. 
 

Tip

During Vesak Day and other Buddhism festivals, selling or drinking alcohol is prohibited by Thailand law. Thus during the Buddhism festivals, most of bars will close.
