Day 3 Lhasa
Tibetan people
Today, we will drive out of the downtown area to the outskirts of Lhasa and visit the Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery. Drepung in Tibetan means a pile of rice. The monastery was so named because the large-scale white building complex constructed on the hillside looks like a giant pile of rice. Although not as grand as Drepung Monastery, Sera Monastery has the most famous debate of Buddhist scriptures. This ritual is generally held from 15:30 to 17:00 during Monday - Saturday.
