Tips

1. Scorching summer is the slack season in Cairo, as the unbearable heat is really inapposite for travelling. However, the scenic spots become uncrowded.

2. Ramadan, the month of fast, is the ninth month of Islamic calendar, from the turning up of crescent to that the next time. It’s an important event in Egypt and often falls in the first half of the year over past years. It’s advised to avoid traveling to Cairo in such a period, as many shops may shut down for the fasting. Even so, it’s interesting to join in the big dinner after every sunset and the big feast of Eid Al Fitr later.
