Famous Sweater City with Golden Beaches

Situated in the southeast of Shandong Peninsula, Haiyang is a county-level city of Yantai City. It is close to Laiyang on the west, Qixia on the north and the Yellow Sea on the south. Haiyang Shandong is equidistant from Yantai, Qingdao and Weihai for it is located in the center of the Jiaodong Peninsula. Known as the national sweater city, Haiyang Shandong is one of the five largest sweater processing areas in China. Haiyang is also an ideal tourist destination with a golden beach, precipitous mountains and a romantic artificial island.

 Haiyang Holiday Resort

Zhaohushan National Forest Park, 8km (5 mi) away from the urban area, is an excellent resort for sightseeing with beautiful scenery and pure air. The east tour line Dujuan Valley is characterized by strange stones and precipitous peaks and the west Baihe Valley owns abundant plants and dropping waterfalls. Tourists can learn about Buddhism and local folk culture at Chengdao Temple and Dragon King Hall with folk characteristics. The park also provides thrilling rafting projects and zip-lining adventures.

 Lianli Island
Lianli Island is the first offshore artificial island in northern China. Here you can see the purple lavender flower sea and beautiful landscape with the theme of love. The bonfire party held in the yurts is full of Mongolian characteristics. There is also Mongolian dance, hula dance and lively horse performance. It is very exciting to take speedboats or water bikes to cross the sea and experience water entertainment projects.

Best Time to Visit Haiyang

The best time to visit Haiyang Shandong is in summer, from June to August when visitors can experience various water entertainments and the weather regulated by marine climate is not so hot. The climate in Haiyang is moderate and the day-night temperature difference is small. It gets colder and drier from September to February, the autumn and winter times of Haiyang. The lowest temperature of Haiyang Shandong can be as low as -10℃ (14℉) in winter, from December to February. But the temperature and rainfall will increase in spring from March to May.

Haiyang is 409 kilometers (254 miles) away from Jinan, the capital of Shandong Province and 129 kilometers (80 miles) from Qingdao. Visitors can take a flight to Qingdao Liuting International Airport or Yantai Penglai International Airport then take a shuttle bus to Haiyang Shandong, taking 1.5 hours and 2 hours respectively. It is also very convenient to access Haiyang by a bullet train from Jinan East Railway Station and Qingdao North Railway Station. Taking a coach to Haiyang Shandong is also available.

The transportation measures in Haiyang depend on buses and taxis to a great extent. It charges CNY7 for the first 3km and CNY2/km for the next distance. It takes CNY300-310 to Qingdao Liuting International Airport and CNY140-150 to Haiyang North Railway Station from Haiyang downtown area by taxi.
