Ho Chi Minh City Weather in May

May is the first month of the rainy season in Ho Chi Minh City. So entering May, the Ho Chi Minh City weather features much more rainfall and the precipitation rises to a high level of about 220 mm. However, a large amount of rainfall does not lower the high temperature and it keeps one of the hottest months of the year, with an average temperature hovering between 25-35℃ (77-95℉). The daytime hours keep about 12.5 hours and the humidity is around 78%, a little humid. 

Even though more than half of the month is rainy days in May, travelers should not worry too much about it. That’s because most of the rainfall is sudden downpours coming fast and also ending fast. The occasional pouring rains do not affect your schedule too much.  

 

Due to the pretty hot weather in May, it is recommended travelers pack some comfortable summer clothes. Gentlemen can prepare some short shirts, T-shirts, and light trousers while ladies can wear breathable dresses or skirts.
