Delhi Weather in September

As the end of rainy season, Delhi weather in September keeps sultry and hot, although it is not extremely hot as in the previous months. It has average temperature of around 30℃ (86℉). The average high temperature is 34℃ (93℉) and the average low temperature always lies at about 25℃ (77℉). In general, September sees less rainfall than before and the precipitation accumulates to 128 mm from about 6 rainy days. The humidity remains at a pretty high level, approaching about 72%. 

September is still in the low travel season, so visitors can enjoy a discount on accommodation prices and flight tickets if they don’t mind the sweltering weather and frequent showers. Also, rain gear is still indispensable.    

 

It is suggested to pack some breathable and light clothes, like cotton T-shirts, linen tops, blouses, light trousers and dresses. You can also prepare a thin coat, hoodie or jacket in case of going outside on cool nights. Taking a rain coat or an umbrella with you is very necessary and wearing sandals or flip-fops is favorable.

Then head to the bustling Old Delhi, to go shopping in the old market and taste delicious street snacks in Chandni Chowk. It is also suggested to stop by Jama Masjid nearby. For first-time travelers to Delhi, don’t miss the beautiful Humayun’s Tomb featuring Persian elegance, a fine example of early garden tombs. The ancient Qutub Minar, the magnificent Swaminarayan Akshardham, and Red Fort are also must-visits where you can see one of the oldest parts of the city. When it rains, it is recommended to have fun indoors. Appreciating the world-class historical artifacts such as manuscripts, old paintings and weapons in the National Museum would be perfect.
