To commemorate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of People's Republic of China (PRC), China will hold a military parade at Tian'anmen Square in Beijing on October 1, 2019. This is the 16th review of troops since 1949, followed by a series of patriotic activities later this year. In order to hold the parade successfully, many restrictions will be carried out in that area, which may influence one's travel plan. The parade site and surrounding areas will be closed from September 21 to October 1, including Tian'anmen Square and Forbidden City. Besides that, following attractions will also be closed during the period and even for a longer time, Tiananmen Tower, Chairman Mao Memorial Hall, Jingshan Park, National Museum of China, Yonghe Lamasery, Working People's Cultural Palace and Zhongshan Park.

Surrounding commercial areas, including Qianmen Street, Dashilar Street, Wangfujing Street, Xidan Commercial Street, and Dongdan Commercial Street will be closed but the close time is still uncertain.

Some parks in Beijing may also be closed temporarily, such as Taoranting Park, Chaoyang Park, Lianhuachi Park, Longtan Park, Honglingjin Park, and Yaowahu Park. The Capital Airport and Daxing New Airport in Beijing may be closed from 09:30 to 12:30 on October 1. Many airlines will cancel their flights to/from Beijing during the three hours. Passengers should pay attention to avoid booking tickets on that time.
  Subway stations nearby the parade site may be closed. For example:
 Line 1: Dawanglu, Guomao, Yonganli, Jianguomen, Dongdan, Wangfujing, Tiananmen East, Tiananmen West, Xidan, Fuxingmen.
 Line 2: Qianmen, Chongwenmen, Xuanwumen, Hepingmen, Jianguomen, Changchunjie, Fuxingmen, Chegongzhuang, Chaoyangmen and Dongsi Shitiao.
 Line 4: Xidan Xisi, Lingjing Hutong, Xuanwumen and Pinganli.
 Line 5: Dongdan, Chongwenmen, Dengshikou, Dongsi and Zhangzizhong.
 Line 6: Chegongzhuang West, Chegongzhuang, Pinganli, Beihai North, Nanluoguxiang, Dongsi, Chaoyangmen, Dongdaqiao, Hujialou and Jintailu.
 Line 8: Nanluoguxiang
 Line 9: Military Museum
 Line 10: Guomao, Gongzhufen, Hujialou and Tuanjiehu
 Line 14: Jintailu

  Vehicle restrictions will be carried out in Beijing city. For instance, the odd-and-even numbered license plate rule will be carried out from September 21 to October 1. This may help to solve traffic jam problems and improve air quality to some degree.
