Tour Guide - Tina Zhang

Hi dear friends,

I am Tina, a professional English tour guide in Beijing since 2008. I was born and grew up in Beijing. Now, I’m working for TravelChinaGuide.com, a company full of vigor. We are cooperating perfectly to welcome tourists from all around the world.

Beijing Tour Guide - Tina ZhangFor me, a person who loves traveling and seeing different places, every day is like a new journey, full of unknown beauty and surprise. Travel satisfies my adventurous heart, teaching me things I never knew and helping me discover a better me. During my trips, I meet a lot of people, see beautiful scenery, experience various cultures and try different delicious foods. I also encounter many unforeseen circumstances and problems on the way, but there are always nice people willing to give me a helping hand, which impresses me deeply. By traveling, I get to know exactly what a traveler wants – a safe, sound and happy trip fulfilling their dreams. I chose to be a tour guide, not only because it embodies my passion for travel but also because I want to help other travelers.

Positive Attitude as a Tour Guide

I present my group with sunny smile and make their trip to Beijing a joyful one. I believe that a positive attitude makes a happy life. At the same time, I guide my group and enlighten everybody’s mind, as a guest once said: ‘You have magic power in influencing people.’

I treat every guest with patience. This is a world of rich and diversified cultures. People of different cultural backgrounds look at China from different points of view and have different understandings. I have learnt how to explain things in a proper way, whilst showing respect to them. I believe that everybody is born with a good nature.

I try my best to take care of every guest. I understand that the local tour guide is the only person the tourists can trust when traveling to a strange place. A tour guide is supposed to be helpful in many ways. For example, as a gourmet, I know a lot about Chinese food and am familiar with the local restaurants. Very often I try to make adjustments on the fixed menu for groups to offer every guest the right food and make them feel at home.

Here is a story of mine:

Once I welcomed a family from America who were vegetarians. I managed to contact the restaurant before we arrived, made some adjustments to the menu and got them a separate table. I did not leave for my lunch until they got all the right food. In the evening of heavy rain, I helped them find another vegetarian cafeteria, which was a great surprise to them. Surely I was kindly praised by them too.

I love Beijing, which boasts a long history and rich culture. I love my job, which in a sense makes me a cultural ambassador. I love my guests who make everyday special to me.

I am looking forward to seeing you here in Beijing and showing you around. I am sure you will be impressed by the magnificent Great Wall, historic Forbidden City, distinctive Hutongs and other attractions. I hope we will have a happy time together, my dear friends from afar!
