My name is Phoebe, and my Chinese name is Meng Fei. I am from Liaoning Province in Northeastern China. I came to Xi'an to study English and tourism in 2001 and graduated in 2005. I fell in love with this city when I first saw the ancient City Wall. The City Wall is so magnificent! Then I discovered more things in this city. One old Chinese saying goes, "Scholars are from the south, generals are from the north and it is in Shaanxi that emperors live and die." On this thick yellowish earth with rich cultural connotations, there are more than 30 tombs of the emperors, including tombs of the Yellow Emperor (Huangdi), the First Emperor of the Qin Dynasty (221 - 207 BC), as well as those emperors of the Han (202 BC - 220 AD) and Tang (618 - 907) Dynasties. Since the early twentieth century, a number of historical relics have been unearthed, each of them creating a stir at home and abroad.

In 1974, Terra-Cotta Warriors were discovered by the local farmers. It became the most important place to visit in Xi'an. It's also my favorite place. Many of my clients asked me how often I go to the Terra-Cotta Warriors Museum. I am proud to answer twice a week. I love to see them and enjoying seeing the different faces.

Xi'an has many delicious local snacks, such as Cured Meat in Pancakes, Shredded Pancakes in Mutton or Beef Soup, Cold Noodles, and Qishan Noodles. I have lived in Xi'an for 11 years now. I don’t think I could ever leave it. I will live the rest of my life here and become an integral part of it, like a brick on the City Wall.

"I love my Xi'an". I became a tour guide in 2006. This is really what I want to do. By this way, I can introduce Xi'an to more people. In these past 6 years, I have had clients from all over the world, met many different people, and learned more things. Once I had a group from the U.S. They were friends and almost all of them played pickle ball very well. They were a very happy and active team. I stayed with them for two full days, showing them every important thing in Xi'an, and I really enjoyed those days with them! I even took them to play pingpong with Chinese people in the City Wall Park. They said pickle ball was similar to pingpong which the Chinese people like.
