Niger is a landlocked country bordered by Libya in the north, by Chad in the East, by Nigeria in the south, by Benin and Burkina Fasso in the southwest, by Mali in the west and by Algeria in the Northwest. Most of the country belongs to the Sahara desert, thus it is hottest country in the world. The Niger River flows for about 550 kilometers in Niger. The capital, Niamey is the centre of politics, economy, culture and transportation. The average temperature is 28.9 degrees centigrade; the yearly rainfall is 350-750 millimeters. Every June to September is the rainy seasons.
The bilateral relationship
Niger aims to establish friendly bond with all countries and organization on the basis of peace, mutual-respect. They take neutral stands towards international affairs. The bilateral relationship was set up on July 20, 1974 between China and Niger. On July 22, 1992, it reestablished the diplomatic relationship with Taiwan. China decisively declared to cease the bond with Niger on Jul 30. On Aug 19, 1996, the bilateral relations were resumed.
Visa information
The following documents must be submitted when people apply for the Nigerian visa: the valid Chinese passports, name of the inviter, the invitation letter, name of the applicant, date of birth, ID card, passport number, purpose of visit, duration, two application forms together with 2 photos. In general, the single entry visa with 3 months can be issued by the Embassy in China in two days.
People's living
Niger is ranked as one of the most undeveloped country in the world. Over half of the population lives under the poverty line. Only one telephone is available among every thousand families; only three hospitals can reach the national level; every 25000 residents share one doctor. The medical treatment is far from being satisfied.
