Quanzhou Metro

The rail transit system of the city is expected to two subway lines in the near future. Covering around 40 kilometers (25 miles), Quanzhou metro line 1 will be constructed in 2018 and will be put into service by the end of 2023. It will connect Quanzhou Railway Station and Hanjiang Town via 32 stations. Phase one of subway line 2 is scheduled to serve the public in 2023, passing Nan’an, Jiangnan, Quanzhou Ancient Town, Donghai and Taiwanese Investment Zone. This metro line will run between between Xiantang Park and Luoyang Bridge, stretching about 36 kilometers (22 miles). Luoyang Bridge will be set up as the transfer station of Quanzhou metro line 2 and line 4. People will transfer conveniently for the city’s airport, railway station and bus station through taking Quanzhou subway.

As per the long-term plan, this city is planned to operate 6 metro lines covering around 197 kilometers (122 miles) in total and passing 150 stations. Once completed, the broader urban railway transport system will greatly promote economic development as well as the tourism industry development of the city.
