How to Get There

Hustai National Park is located approximately 60 km (37 mi) west of the capital of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar. It is always advised to visit as part of a guided tour for all the right reasons. Otherwise, the easiest thing is to rent a 4WD truck for the trip, as it will be beneficial and less expensive for a group. Hire a driver, they mostly take the main road from Ulaanbaatar to the west to Hustai Mountains Route, then turn towards the unpaved road and proceed for about 10 kilometers before you finally reach the main camp.

• Estimated fair by bus- Within $20 per person
 
However, the traveling fare always vary based on the season and situation, you can also take up horse riding to cover the distance between the capital and Hustai National Park. The cost of renting a horse can be within $25- $30 for few hours based on the distance you are covering.

When to Get There

You can opt for a trip to see the National Park during the day, however, it's better to wait overnight, as the ideal time to see the Takhis appears to be at dawn or dusk as they come down from the mountains to drink water from the Tuul.
