To some extent, the weather of Cambodia in February is like that of the Mediterranean summer. It is an appropriate time to go to some cool places like the seaside or mountains. 1. Angkor Wat

Angkor Wat, one of the "Seven Wonders of the World", attracting numerous travelers every year. There are Five Lotus-bud Towers in the center of the Angkor Temple, which is the symbol of Angkor Dynasty (802-1431) and now also appear on Cambodian national flag. Many old temples and fine carvings are displayed here. 
 
In February, most of the days are sunny. Under the blue sky and white clouds, the temple can be more brilliant. At sunset time in February, the temple and the surroundings make up a fascinating picture. You can choose this time to explore the historical sites and take very unique photos. What’s more, the tranquility from Buddhism will calm yourself down as well.
 
Tip: In addition to the mysterious Angkor Wat, it is also recommended to visit the equally significant and relatively less crowded Roluos Site, which belongs to the Pre-Angkorian Period. The magnificent temples standing amidst scattered ruins there are still monuments of great respect.

2. Mount Aural

Mount Aural is the highest mountain in Cambodia at 1,813 meters (5,948 feet). It is a granite mountain with dense woods covering its peak. As the temperature goes up a little in February, walking into mountains with lower temperature is a good choice without doubt.
 
Ascending Mount Aural takes approximately 2 to 3 days. Along the way, you'll be treated to stunning vistas of forests, grasslands, and rocky terrain, as well as breathtaking views of the Cardamom Mountains, the mighty Mekong River, and the expansive Cambodian plains.

3. Battambang

Battambang is Cambodia's second largest city. It allures a growing number of travelers with its unique blend of attractions: the iconic Bamboo Train, charming French-inspired architecture, the awe-inspiring Phnom Sampeau and its renowned bat cave, intriguing museums showcasing historical treasures, and the bustling city center with vibrant central market. 
 
Moreover, the Stung Sangker River, a verdant ribbon of water, gracefully traverses Battambang, dividing the city into picturesque left and right banks. February is definitely a right time for boating on the river to enjoy cityscape and feeling the coolness from water and wind.

1. Consider choosing water activities such as swimming, snorkeling or boat trips. The coolness of the water allow you to enjoy stunning views of Cambodia's beautiful beaches and waters. Both the Seven Star Sea and Tonlé Sap Lake offer pristine water quality and breathtaking landscapes, making them ideal for a range of water sports. Along Cambodia's coastline, islands such as Koh Tang and Koh Rong Samloem stand out for their rich marine biodiversity, vibrant coral reefs, and exceptional visibility, attracting diving enthusiasts from all over the world.
 
2. There are a large number of ethnic Chinese living in Cambodia. Although Chinese New Year is not an official holiday, it is a very important holiday for Cambodians, especially Chinese Cambodians. They bring offerings to Buddhist halls to pray, and some local chambers of commerce organize lion dances with Chinese characteristics. During January 29th-February 12th, 2025, which is next Chinese New Year, you can participate in the praying activities or enjoy the lion dances.

 Clothes: Putting some summer clothes in your luggage is suggested, such as T-shirts, shorts and skirts. Your clothes are better to be thin, breathable and in light color, which makes body more comfortable. Second, to prevent any sunburn, take some sunscreen accessories with you. For example, in the sunlight, you can put on wide-brim hats, sunglasses, sun-protective masks and sun-protective sleeves. 

Tips: 
1. When visiting temples, including Angkor Wat, it's advisable to dress modestly as a sign of respect for the Buddhist sanctuary. Females should avoid wearing shorts or halter tops, while males should refrain from clothes without collars and sleeves. Shoes and hats should be taken off when entering some religious halls. The Silver Tower belongs to the royal palace. Visitors are asked to dress more formally. Men must wear long pants. Women should wear long pants or long skirts, and keep the shoulders well covered.
 
2. To protect your own privacy, short skirts are not recommended to wear in places with height gap or many steps, such as Angkor Wat.
 
 Shoes: To get nice feeling in February while walking, choose some shoes that are mobile and breathable, such as sandals and sneakers. It is also convenient to wear flip flops. They are also preferred by the locals.
 
 Other Necessities: Take plenty of water and salty drinks with you to keep your body hydrated. Regular hydration is the key to cope with the heat.

1. In the morning, when the temperature is relatively cool, it is the best time to do outdoor activities. You can get up early to visit Angkor Wat or other attractions.
 
2. Try to avoid prolonged outdoor activities. At 2-4 pm, choose to rest indoors or in places with shade and shelter, such as museums, restaurants on Bar Street and indoor markets.
 
3. In February, Chinese New Year is celebrated widely in Cambodia every year. Many restaurants and hotels close for three days to a week during Chinese New Year. If you are going to travel during the time period, better make reservations in advance.
