Statistics of Shanghai Inbound Tourism in 2019

Based on the statistics released by Shanghai Municipal Tourism Administration, the number of Shanghai inbound tourist arrivals in 2019 totaled 8.9723 million, increasing by 0.4% over the same period of 2018.  The total revenue of  Shanghai 2019 inbound tourism reached USD8.376 billion, increased by 13.6% over 2018.

China Tourism Statistics during Chinese New Year in 2019

During Chinese New Year of 2019, the inbound tourism of China remained prosperous. The total number of inbound tourist arrivals was 415 million with the growth of 7.6% over the period of 2018 Spring Festival. The total tourism revenue broke the CNY 513.9 billion mark, with the increasing rate of 8.2% over the year of 2018.

As for the outbound tourism of China during Chinese New Year in 2019, new breakthrough in the number of outbound trips was made. According to National Migration Administration, the number of outbound tourists was 6.311 million, increasing by 12.48% over the same period of 2018. Chinese tourists also made great contributions to the destination countries’ economy. In average, every Chinese tourist spent about CNY 7,000 when they visit other countries, which was 2 times of what they spent in China. The cities or countries that Chinese tourists spend most are London, Paris, Dubai, Okinawa, Kyoto, Osaka, Nagoya, Singapore and Fukuoka.
