Dali, a romantic travel destination, attracts people from all over the world with its beautiful landscape and unique ethnic villages. Today, you will follow us to explore the Bai ethic nationality in Xizhou, experience the hand-made tie-dyeing in Zhoucheng, tour the Three Pagodas Temple, and take a leisurely walk along the ecological corridor of the Erhai Lake.

In the morning, your guide and driver will meet you in your hotel lobby at the appointed time. Your guide will contact you one day in advance to greet you and confirm the pickup time. Then a comfortable private drive around 1 hour will take you to the Xizhou ancient town, which is an important Bai Nationality settlement, around 18 kilometers (11.18 miles) north of Dali. Upon arrival, you will be greeted with a strong historical atmosphere. There are over 200 well-preserved houses from the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368 - 1911), which will offer you an excellent chance to explore the unique Bai architecture. In addition to the white walls which make the Bai architecture distinctive, the decorative art of the gatehouse, the screen wall, the door and window carving as well as the gable painting are also some main points, which are well worth your attention. Afterwards, we will head to Zhoucheng, the hometown of Bai people's tie-dyeing art, which has been listed as a national intangible cultural heritage. Walking into Zhoucheng, you will find that almost all people here could tie-dye, from the senior with gray hair to the lovely children. Watching the tie-dyeing will be a stunning visual experience, as although the process is the same, there may be unexpected changes at last.

Lunch will be arranged by yourself, but your guide will be glad to offer you some suggestions and assistance. After lunch, we will drive to visit the Three Pagodas Temple, which is against the Mt. Cangshan on the south and facing the Erhai Lake on the east. As its name suggests, there are 3 pagodas, the Qianxun pagoda, the south pagoda and the north pagoda, forming a triangle. The Three Pagodas Temple was built during the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907), with high historical, cultural and architectural value. After that, you will be taken to the Erhai Lake, which is the mother lake of the Bai Nationality. "Er" in Chinese character is water plus ear, which is said to be so named as its shape is like an ear. Upon arrival, you will have some free time to take a leisurely walk along the ecological corridor to appreciate the amazing scenery and the numerous sea gulls. Alternatively, if you prefer riding, you can also ride a bicycle from Dali ancient town to the Erhai Lake. In this way, you need to pay the rental fee on the spot by yourself and your guide will help you with it.

After the tour ends, your guide and driver will accompany you back to your hotel. If you're still energetic, you could continue to wonder around the ancient town. Hope you have had a great time.
