Day 1 Lhasa Arrival
Hello Tibet! Upon your arrival at the Lhasa Airport or railway station, our tour guide will meet you on time and then transfer you to the hotel by taxi. The rest of the day is free for you. We suggest you to have a good rest in the hotel to recover from the jet-lag and get acclimatized to the high altitude and avoid over-exercise. If you look forward to outing for a walk, the Potala Palace Square would be a nice place where you could stretch yourself a bit and take some great photos.

Day 2 Lhasa
Potala Palace
After breakfast, this wonderful Kailash Mansarovar tour begins with the landmark of Lhasa, the Potala Palace. Listed as a World Heritage Site in 1994, it is the world's highest building complex of palace, monastery and fort in terms of altitude. The palace houses abundant cultural relics, among which the spiritual pagodas are the most exquisite ones inlaid with gold and gem where the generations of Dalai Lamas' ashes were rested.
After lunch on your own, we will head for another world heritage site, the Jokhang Monastery located in the center of the old town area. With an honorable history of 1,300 years, it enjoys sovereign status in Tibetan Buddhism. The temple enables you to see its most precious relic, a life-sized Buddha statues of 12-year-old Shakyamuni. Outside the monastery, you will feel awe for the pious pilgrims prostrating to pray to the Buddha. Afterwards, our guide will lead you to the busy Bakhor Street that circles the Jokhang Temple. An array of vendors and stalls are clustered on the street, where you could handpick various Tibetan-styled artifacts and souvenirs. Your evening will be highlighted by a welcome dinner.

Day 3 Lhasa
Sutra-debating in Sera Monastery
Today our first sightseeing stop goes to the Drepung Monastery, the largest Tibetan Buddhist temple in the world. Built against the hill slope, the monastery covers a large area of 200,000 square meters. Besides, it showcases a great number of Thangka works and mural paintings that allow you to trace its past glory.
After enjoying the lunch by yourself, you will continue the sightseeing by a visit to Sera Monastery. Follow our guide to delve into the temple to uncover the delicate artifacts such as sutra scriptures, Thangka and mural paintings. Around 3:00 pm, there is an interesting debating show in the monastery. Lamas dressed in red robes sit on the ground in groups to debate on Buddhism doctrines with aggressive gestures. In the end, you will be chauffeured back to the hotel.

Day 4 Lhasa - Gyantse - Shigatse
Drepung Monastery, Lhasa
You will have a morning ride to Shigatse, and on the mid-way our vehicle will travel through the Gampala Pass with an elevation of 4,790 meters (15,715 feet). Far in the distance lies the emerald Yamdrok Lake that is surrounded by mighty snow mountains, particularly the highest Mount Nyenchen Khangsar with a soaring altitude of 7,206 meters (23,640 feet).
After a short lunch break, continue the land journey by passing through the Karola Glacier, and reach the third largest city of Tibet, Gyantse. There you will visit the Pelkor Monastery to discover the co-existence of three sects of Tibetan Buddhism, marvel at the countless exquisite Buddha stupas, and overlook the Gyantse Fortress from a distance. Later, we will finally arrive in Shigatse after another 1.5 hours' driving, and the guide will help you to check into the Manasarovar Hotel for a good rest.

After a short lunch break, continue the land journey by passing through the Karola Glacier, and reach the third largest city of Tibet, Gyantse. There you will visit the Pelkor Monastery to discover the co-existence of three sects of Tibetan Buddhism, marvel at the countless exquisite Buddha stupas, and overlook the Gyantse Fortress from a distance. Later, we will finally arrive in Shigatse after another 1.5 hours' driving, and the guide will help you to check into the Manasarovar Hotel for a good rest.

Day 5 Shigatse - Everest Base Camp
This morning your adventure starts from the time-weathered Tashilhunpo Monastery. As the traditional seat of successive Panchen Lamas, you can catch a sight of its grandest Maitreya Buddha Hall and aged white-stone stupas.
Lunch is at your own expense. And then you will be driven to the Everest Base Camp. When passing through the Gawula Pass with an elevation of 5,198 meters (17,053 feet), the Himalayas is in full view. After arrival at the camp site, you can finally gaze at the world's highest peak Qomolangma at a close distance. If time and weather permit, you are offered an once-in-a-lifetime chance to embrace the spectacular sunset view of Mt. Qomolangma. At last, you will check in the Tent Guest House for an overnight stay.

Lunch is at your own expense. And then you will be driven to the Everest Base Camp. Day 6 Everest Base Camp - Saga
Pelkor Monastery, Shigatse
If the weather is favorable, you could get up early in the morning to seize the awesome sunrise on Mt. Qomolangma. After that, you will take a land transfer to Saga by our private vehicle. The journey might be a bit long, but the driver will make stops for you to have meals and rest. During the ride you are able to see the world's 14th highest peak Mt. Shishapangma with an altitude of 8,012 meters (26,286 feet) and the fascinating Turquoise Lake Peiku Tso. If lucky enough, you may also spot some rare wild animals, such as wild asses and Tibetan antelopes. No meal is included in today. Upon arrival, check in the Saga Xibuyizhan Hotel or other hotels of similar level.

Day 7 Saga - Lake Manasarover - Darchen
Today, you will be transferred to Darchen in our air conditioned vehicle. On the way, we will pass the Saga Valley sandwiched between Gangdise Mountain Range and the Himalayas. The breathtaking natural landscape and rustic and peaceful villages hidden in the tranquil steppe will surely captivate your eyes. After passing through the Mt. Naimonanyi and the sacred Lake Manasarover, we finally get to the southern foot of the Mt. Kailash, the holiest snow mountain of this municipality. You will stay at the Tarchen Chongqing Hotel or other hotels in similar standards.

Day 8 Darchen - Drirapuk (Trek 13km)
Our clients at the Everest Base Camp
In the morning, we will depart from Darchen and take the sightseeing bus leaving for Sarshung Valley, where you will start your Mt. Kailash tour with a 13 km (8 miles) long trek. Yaks and porters are available there and you can hire one to deliver your luggage, and the expense is on your own.
During the hike, you will meet a lot of pilgrims prostrating along the path and plies of Mani stones. This is also the best way to admire the western and northern faces of Mt. Kailash. On the way, there are some tent shops you can buy yourself some foods and drinks. Finally, your hike draws to a close at the Drirapuk Monastery, and you will check into a guesthouse.

Day 9 Drirapuk-Dzutrpuk (Trek 18km)
It would be the toughest and most challenging circuit of your Kailash Mansarovar tour, as you are going to hike for 18 km (11 miles) across an area of high elevation. You will pass the Dromala Pass with an elevation of 5,630 meters. On the way, you could see some lovely small lakes and many local Tibetans prostrating on the circuit. Our guide will accompany you to take a break at a local tea house for replenishing and rest. You will also visit the Zutulpuk Monastery that is famous for its miracle cave of milarepa. Then stay overnight at the guesthouse.

Day 10 Dzutripuk - Darchen (Trek 7km)
This morning, you will hike to Zongto. The 7km-long classic hike route would be one of the best ways for you to take in the awe-inspiring landscape of the plateau and know more about Tibetan Buddhism. On the journey, you would not only see colorful prayer flags and scared mini stone piles at times, but also encounter a lot of pious Tibetan Buddhism believers prostrating on the path to accomplish their pilgrimage. At noon, you will arrive at Zongto, where you will connect a scenic sightseeing bus to Darchen. Stay overnight at Tarchen Chongqing Hotel or other hotels of similar standards.

Day 11 Darchen - Lake Manasorova - Saga

Today the Kailash Mansarovar tour proceeds with a land transfer from Darchen to Saga, and during the transit the enchanting Lake Manasarovar would unveils its charms along the way. As one of the three holy lakes of Tibet, Manasarovar resembles a royal blue jade nestled in the lofty hills, serene and unspoiled. The whole land trip runs at a distance of 450 km (270 miles), but you will be given some free time for meals and taking pictures. Upon arrival at Saga, you will get accommodated at the Xibuyizhan Hotel or hotels of similar standards.

Day 12 Saga - Sakya
This morning you are going to launch a wonderful land trip from Saga to Sakya. This 350 km long bus trip takes about 6 hours on the way, but our driver will make stops for you to have meals and use the restroom. Sitting inside the vehicle, you could just immerse yourself in the amazing scenery coming into sight. After your arrival, our guide will assist you to get lodged in the Sakya Yuan Fu Hotel.

Day 13 Sakya - Shigatse
Sakya Monastery
Today, our guide will accompany you to take a morning excursion to the Sakya Old Town, which used to be the capital of Tibet with a profound history of over 1,000 years. The most significant monument in the ancient town is the splendid Sakya Monastery. Made up of more than 40 buildings, Sakya Monastery houses countless cultural relics. Particularly the mural paintings amount up to 3,000 pieces, which depict the scenes of religious rituals, history stories and local life. Next, we will drive to Shigatse and check in the Manasarovar Hotel.

Day 14 Shigatse - Lhasa
After a big breakfast, we will hit the road again to return to Lhasa. Along the way, you can enjoy the changing views while passing across the mountains and valleys. Upon arrival in Lhasa, you could finally have a rest in the hotel.

Day 15 Departure from Lhasa
Today is the last day of your Kailash Mansarovar tour package. After check-out procedures, our guide and driver will pick you up from the hotel, and see you off at the airport or railway station. We wish you a nice journey home.
