Over 3,700 Chinese Attractions Reopened as China Bounces Back from Coronavirus

More than 3,700 China's scenic areas have reopened recently after being closed for two months. Since January, China has been seriously hit by coronavirus. However, as the infection cases have been contained effectively, China gradually recovers from the virus and welcomes resumption of work. Some famous attractions such as Badaling Great Wall, Yellow Mountain, Ancient City of Pingyao, and West Lake have reopened while more and more interesting places will reopen soon.  
 

Badaling Great Wall in Beijing

Since March 24, 2020, a part of the Badaling Great Wall reopened to the republic from 9:00 to 16:00, which is the section from No.6 North Watchtower to No.5 South Watchtower. The Great Wall Museum, cable cars and pulleys are still not available right now. To ensure travelers’ safety, the number of visitors will be limited to 19,500 every day and all the facilities will be disinfected every day. What’s more, wearing masks and accepting temperature test are a must when entering the scenic area. Visitors need to rebook tickets with real names on websites in advance.

Yellow Mountain & Hongcun Village in Anhui Province

About 15 sites in Huangshan city reopened since March 14, including majestic Yellow Mountain, elegant Hongcun Village, tranquil Xidi Village, Nanping and Pingshan Villages. Nevertheless, temperature measurement and personal information registration are a must. And visitors should keep a safe distance of more than 1 meter when queuing and 1.5 meters from other tourists when visiting. Also, avoid any contact with wild animals.
  The Ancient City of Pingyao, one of the ‘Four Ancient Cities in China’, announced to reopen from March 25 on. The city is famous for being a world financial center in the Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1911) and features a cluster of complete ancient buildings, including old security guard companies, former banks, and past government offices. At present, it opens from 8:00 to 18:00 and the allowed number of visitors is 56,800 every day. Also, the tickets should be booked on line in advance.
 

West Lake in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province

In fact, West Lake has reopened since February. The good news is that the surrounding 16 sites including Tomb of General Yue Fei, Peak Flown From Afar will open for free to the public till May 1. Still, making a reservation on the internet ahead of time is a must.  
 

Potatso National Park in Yunnan Province

The scenic area reopened on March 24 and the open time is from 8:30 to 16:00. The ticket price has been reduced by 50% (exclude sightseeing bus fee). Visitors should wear masks and have temperature checked when entering the park.

Pudacuo National Park is located in the center of the Three Parallel Rivers Scenic Area in northwest Yunnan. The park is rich in animal and plant resources, with mirror-like mountain lakes, beautiful water and green pasture. The two lakes inside Bita Lake and Shudu Lake are also known as the "pearls of the plateau".
 

Yading Nature Reserve, Daocheng in Sichuan Province 

The nature reserve featuring snow mountains, clear lakes, and vast pastures has reopened since March 8 and the number of visitors is 5,000 every day. The scenic area has taken measures that individual visitors and group visitors will enter the reserve separately in different periods. 
 

Other Famous Attractions Reopened:

 Beijing: Besides Badaling Great Wall, a lot of attractions reopened now, including Beijing Zoo, Olympic Forest Park, Beijing Botanical Garden, and Fragrant Hills Park

 Shanghai:  At present, 48 attractions opened, including three landmark scenic spots in Lujiazui area, namely the Oriental Pearl Tower, Jin Mao Tower, Shanghai Tower, Madame Tussauds Shanghai, and Fengjing Ancient Town.

Xi'an: The reopened scenic areas include Xi'an City Wall, Tang Paradise, Huaqing Pool, Louguantai, Qinling Wildlife Park, and Zhuque National Forest Park…

Guilin: 82 scenic areas opened, including Li River, Elephant Trunk Hill, Xingping Ancient Town…

Shandong Province: More than 100 attractions opened, including Confucius Temple, Baotu Spring Park, Thousand-Buddha Mountain, and Mt. Laoshan

Xinjiang Autonomous Region: At present, there have been over 131 scenic areas opened, such as Heavenly Lake, Kanas Reserve, Kashgar Bazaar, Sayram Lake and Kashgar Old City.

Qinghai Province: About 10 sites open now including Qinghai Lake, Dange'er Ancient City

 Guizhou Province: All the attractions have been declared to open since March 25, including Huangguoshu Waterfall, Xijiang Qianhu Miao Village, and Fanjing Mountain.
