On December 30, China opened the deepest high speed railway station in the world, Badaling Great Wall Railway Station along with the adoption of the new China train schedule. At 102m (335ft) below the surface, the Badaling Great Wall Station covers a total area of 49,000 square meters (527,432sq.ft), of which the ground station is 9,000 square meters (96,875sq.ft) and the underground station is 40,500 square meters (435,938sq.ft), making it the largest high speed railway station underground in the world.
The railway station is only about 200m (656ft) to the most popular section of
China's Great Wall, Badaling Great Wall. And passengers can reach the Great Wall cableway lower station in about 2 minutes by foot. From downtown Beijing, tourists can get to Badaling Great Wall Railway Station easily within 20 minutes from Qinghe Railway Station, and in about 30 minutes from Beijing North Railway Station by high speed train, which is the fastest and the best way for travelers to visit the Badaling Great Wall.
Featuring 84-Meter Long Escalator
The world's deepest high speed railway station also features a stunning 84-meter (276ft) long escalator, offering passengers a feeling of traveling through the earth. It is about 42 meters high (138ft), equal to the height of a 14-storey building.
High Speed Trains at Badaling Great Wall Railway Station
Since January 1, 2020, there are 5 pairs of bullet trains departing from Beijing North Station from 6:40 and 2 pairs starting off from Beijing Qinghe Station from 7:25 to Badaling Great Wall Station. It takes about 35 minutes from Beijing North and only 19 minutes from Qinghe. The first class seat costs respectively CNY46 and CNY44 while it takes CNY29 and CNY27 for a second class seat. Beijing – Zhangjiakou, Zhangjiakou – Datong,
Zhangjiakou – Hohhot: 39 pairs of trains daily, 3 pairs of additional trains on peak days.
Shangqiu – Hefei, Zhengzhou – Fuyang: 78 pairs of trains daily, 11 pairs of additional trains on peak days.

New Series of Bullet Trains Put into Use
9 series of bullet trains are operated for the first-time, including 1 pair between Hangzhou and Qingdao, 1 pair between Jianggangshan and Nanchang and the others between Beijing and Nanchang, Sanming, Shenzhen, Xiamen and Fuzhou, etc.
Optimization of the Previous Timetable
To meet the demand of increasing passengers and improve the efficiency of transportation, some train schedules of Beijing, Tianjin, Harbin, Shenyang, Jinan, Qingdao, Hangzhou, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Guiyang have been optimized and the departure and arrival times have been changed accordingly.
