International Horticultural Exhibition 2019 to Open on Apr. 29 in Beijing

The International Horticultural Exhibition 2019 Beijing, also known as Beijing Expo, will be held from April 29 to October 7, 2019. With the theme of ‘Live Green, Live Better’, the Beijing Expo is the second A1 horticultural exhibition in China after the Kunming Expo held in 1999.
 

Largest Expo in History

The Beijing Expo is the largest scale expo with highest level in history covering a total area of 503 hectares (1,243 acres) in Yanqing district of Beijing City. More than 100 countries and international organizations have confirmed to participate in the grand horticultural exhibition.
 

What to See

The core landscape area includes 5 pavilions: China Hall, International Hall, Life Experience Pavilion, Plant Pavilion and Performance Center. Besides that, there is Guirui Theater which will hold opening ceremony, Landscape and Word Horticultural Axises, and other small horticultural exhibition areas.

The Chinese Hall showcasing Chinese traditional culture will be placed under terraced fields, which can reduce a lot of energy consumption. Another eye-catching hall is the International Hall, which will bemade up of 94 flower-umbrella shaped pillars. The pillars can collect the rainwater and then use it for planting and road washing. The total area of the Plant Pavilion reaches 10,000 square meters (1,1960 square yards) and there is a palm houseon the ground floor with an area of 3,000 square meters (3,588 square yards), which collects more than 600 kinds of precious plants.
 

An Advanced Expo

Apart from the colorful and thriving plants, the Beijing Expo also features the high technology. The 5G network will cover main exhibition halls and visitors enter the park through face identification. What’s more, it will be easy for travelers to see driverless cars. The robot commentators, baristas and cleaners will certainly offer you great service.
 

How to Get to Beijing Expo

The Expo site is located 74 kilometers (46 miles) northwest from Beijing downtown area, close to the famous Badaling Great Wall. The public transportation includes 1 railway line S2, Bus Line 919 and 919 Express. In addition, there will be another 8 special tourist bus lines opened. Free shuttle buses will also serve between Yanqing Railway Station and the Expo site.
