1. Tickets are not sold on site, online reservation is required.
2. Some visitors can enjoy free entry, but every visitor needs to reserve the free ticket online in advance.
3. Free of charge for children under 130cm (4.3 feet), or less than 6 years old.
4. Free of charge for seniors over 70 years old.

How to Book and Use
1. Book & pay online, we will book the ticket 7 days in advance once it is released.
2. Please redeem paper ticket with the Passport/ID at the service center (一楼大厅服务点).
3. Please use the ticket on the selected visiting date.

The museum is closed on Mondays, except the Chinese public holidays.
Change & Cancellation
1. Free cancellation if sending emails 48 hours before the entry date.
2. After the ticket is issued, the service fee is non-refundable.
3. Partial cancellation is not accepted, tickets in one order have to be cancelled together.
4. If you would like to make change, please cancel and rebook.
What to Expect

Shanghai Natural History Museum (Jing'an), known as a branch of Shanghai Science and Technology Museum, is one of the biggest Natural Museums in China, located at Shanghai Sculpture Park. Its structure is like a green conch, divided into two storeys above ground and three below. The museum is composed of 10 permanent exhibitions, a few temporary exhibitions, a 4D cinema and the functional area. More than 290,000 species collections are displayed here.

Mystery of Origins exhibition is on the 2nd floor where you can explore the development of the universe and watch a 3D movie about meteorite.

Creature exhibition is on the 1st floor where monkeys, snakes, peacocks and other animals’ specimen are displayed. You can also observe the huge artificial dinosaurs, roaring and shaking their necks.

Evolution exhibition is on basement floor, in which all kinds of animal bones and fossils in various eras are exhibited.

The most favored exhibition is on the 2nd floor underground where you can view the extensive artificial African Savannah. You will see giraffes and hippos walking on the grass, lions lying in the sun and gazelles running wildly to avoid being hunted.

 By metro:  
Take metro line 13 and get off at Shanghai Natural History Museum stop. Leave from exit 1 and walk to the museum.

 By bus: 
Take bus 41, 104, 109, 301, 324, 927, or 955 and get off at Shimen Erlu Shanhaiguanlu Station.
Take bus 36, 253, 869, or 933 and get off at Chengdu Beilu Xinzhalu Station.
Take bus 19, 36, 64, 136, or 316 and get off at Xinzhalu Shimen Erlu Station.
