General Yue Fei was one of the most admired heroes in Chinese history. He was not only faithful but also bestowed with great wisdom. He lost none of the 126 wars he commanded. Intelligent, gallant and faithful to his country, Yue Fei was respected by Chinese people throughout the history.
To commemorate the national hero of the Northern Song Dynasty, General Yue Fei, people established several ancestral temples and a tomb for him. First established in 1450 during the Ming Dynasty, the Tomb of General Yue Fei at the foot of Qixia Ling, a hill on the bank of the West Lake, has become a integrated old architecture complex after much repair throughout the dynasties.
