Fengdu County Pictures

Fengdu County is located on the north and south banks of the Yangtze River, about 170 kilometers east of downtown Chongqing.  The county, also known as the 'City of Ghosts', was established in 90 AD during the Eastern Han Dynasty.  Nearby temples with a wide variety of ghost and devil carvings intended to scare people into obeying Taoist moral codes.  The Snow Jade Cave here is a wondrous labyrinth of stalactites and underground streams.
