In recent years, Urumqi City has rapidly developed its economy, industry, culture as well as tourism and transportation. The downtown area of the city has also become more and more prosperous.
Situated inside Red Hill Park, the Red Hill is considered as a landmark of Urumqi. Since the mountain is made up of purple sandstone, it looks reddish brown, hence the name Red Hill.

The well-known Tianchi Lake of Xinjiang is located in the middle of Bogda Peak, which is 110 kilometers (68 miles) east of Urumqi City. In summer, the beautiful lake is an ideal cool resort, where visitors can enjoy boating on the lake.
Tianshan Mountain is a huge mountain located in the central area of Asia, stretching through the middle part of Xinjiang and reaching to Kazakhstan in the west.
There are more than 50,000 items in this museum, displaying the local culture including costumes, religion, marriage customs and festivals.

It is the largest bazaar in the world gathering Islamic culture, building, ethnic trade, entertainment and catering. It is the assembly place and exhibition center of Xinjiang tourist products.
