Tashilhunpo Monastery is the largest temple in Shigatse, located in the east hillside in the west part of the city. It is one of the famous six Yellow (also Gelug) Sect of Lamaism across the nation, and the residence for Panchen Lama since the 4th. With golden roof and red walls, the monastery contains 57 sutra halls and 3,600 rooms, surrounded by the 3,000-meter-long palace wall set in the hill. Attraction Intro: Tashilhunpo Monastery
