The Wooden Pagoda in Shanxi Province is the existing oldest and highest wooden pagoda-shaped building in China.
Regarded as the 'First Pagoda in the World', the Wooden Pagoda here is located in Yingxian County. It is the also the oldest and highest wooden structure of China. As was built during the Liao Dynasty (916-1125), this wooden tower has over 900 years of history. It is 67 meters (about 220 feet) high, with 30 meters (98.4 feet) long diameter at its bottom.
