Located at the center of Guanzhong Plain, Xianyang lies on the north of the Wei River, and the south of Jiuzong Mountain. It was a famous historical capital of the Qin Empire. The King of Qin Xiaogong built this city in 350 BC, which had been the capital for more than 140 years. In the Han and Tang Dynasties, it was the graveyard area of imperial family. Zhaoling Mausoleum is the tomb of Emperor Taizong Li Shimin and his empress of Tang Dynasty. Many cultural relics and fine colorful murals were excavated from its many accompanying tombs, which are displayed on the Zhaoling Museum.
Maoling Mausoleum is the tomb of Emperor Wudi of Western Han Dynasty. It is located in Xingping City, about 40 kilometers northwest from the downtown of Xi'an.
Xianyang Museum exhibits the cultural relics of Warring States Period, Han and Tang Dynasties, including jade, gold and gilded wares, bronze vessels, potteries and porcelains, pottery figures and Yangjiawan Western Han Warriors and Horses.
Great Buddha Temple is located by No.312 National Highway, 10 kilometers from the west of Bin County. It is known for its great Buddha and exquisite statues in grottoes. The giant Buddha is 20 meter high with 4.5 meters tall hands and 2 meters tall fingers.

Town God’s Temple in Sanyuan County is one of the extant architectural complexes built in the Ming Dynasty in Shaanxi Province. The arrangement is in good order and it is on a large scale.
