Wuxi is an old city in the southern part of Jiangsu province. It is on the bank of Lake Tai and the Grand Canal goes through the city. It earned its nickname "Pearl of Lake Tai" because it's built on the shore of Lake Tai in a scenic setting. It is also the birth place of the Wu culture of China and now it is a very attractive city famous for the old Grand Canal and the original lifestyle of the Yangtze River delta. Many TV studios have been built here, too.

Li Garden, ten kilometers (6 miles) away from Wuxi, is on the north bank of Lake Li in Qingqi Village. Lake Li was named after Fanli, a famous general in the Spring and Autumn Period (770BC-221BC). The garden was originally constructed in 1927, with many other constructions added later. The rockery, corridors and the Four Season Pavilions are very famous.

The Three Kingdoms City is China's twin to Universal Studios in Hollywood. Built in 1993 for filming movies of history sagas, its architecture is true to that of the Han Dynasty, 1800 years ago. One of the movies produced was "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

The 40 kilometers (24 miles) long Old Grand Canal was once a section of the Canal connecting the Yangtze River in the north to Lake Tai in the south. It flows through the city and you can appreciate the original life style of the Yangtze River delta along the river.

China Wuxi Shuaiyuan Redware Museum is a private museum focusing on local redware. It was established in the early 1990's. It has a collection of about 1,000 different styles of redware articles.
