Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum Pictures

The Ming Xiaoling Mausoleum lies at the foot of Wanzhu Peak, the south slope of Zhongshan Mountain, Nanjing City. It's the mausoleum for the first emperor of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) Zhu Yuanzhang and his wife Empress Ma. Zhu Yuanzhang had this place built in 1381. Empress Ma passed away the following year and was buried there in September. The whole project was terminated in 1383. Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang shared the empress's grave when he died in 1398.
