Putuo Zongcheng Temple Pictures

The name of this temple Putuo Zongcheng is translated from Potala Palace in Tibetan, which means the ritual ground for Bodhisattva. It was modeled after the Potala Palace in Lhasa, which was built from 1767 to 1771, covering an area of 220, 000 square kilometers. Among the Eight Outer Temples, it is the largest one. In 1771, the leads and senior officials from Tibet and Mongolia gathered in the Mountain Resort to celebrate the 60th birthday of Emperor Qianlong and the 80th birthday of his mother. In honor of the celebration, Emperor Qianlong had the temple built. Attraction Intro: Putuo Zongcheng Temple
