City Overview (31)
Chongqing is a hilly port city perching on the confluence of the Yangtze River and the Jialing River. It is a popular western embarkation point for Yangtze River cruises.
Jiefangbei CBD (15)
Jiefangbei is the Central Business District of Chongqing, where retailing, entertainment industry, catering, hotels and financial sectors gather.
Chaotianmen Dock (10)
Chaotianmen Dock has the best location at the communications center of the Yangtze River. Many luxury cruise ships for Yichang or Wuhan depart from this dock.
Ci Qi Kou (17)
During the Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368-1911), Ciqikou was famous for its production of porcelain. To date, over 20 old kiln sites have been discovered there. This fact has been recognized by the State Council and in 1998 Ci Qi Kou became a protected cultural site.
Dazu Rock Carvings (18)
Dazu Grottoes is reputed as one of the four greatest stone sculpture treasure troves in China together with Longmen Grottoes in Luoyang, the Magao Caves in Dunhuang and the Yungang Grottoes in Datong.
Chongqing Zoo (11)
Chongqing Zoo is famous for its giant pandas, which live happily there and make tourists indulge in the pleasure of watching and taking photos and videos of them. It has also other lovely animals, including elephants, zebras and giraffe.
The Residence of General Joseph W. Stilwell is about 4.5 kilometers southeast of the downtown of the city. General Joseph Warren Stilwell (1883-1946) was the chief commander of US forces in the China-Burma-India Theatre during World War II.
Chongqing Museum (8)
Covering an area of 5500 sqm, the museum has more than 40 exhibiting halls with about 100,000 relics, spanning over 3000 years from the ancient Kingdom of Ba and the near-mythical Three Kingdoms Period to World War Two and the Chinese Revolution.
