Yumenguan Pass of Great Wall Photos

The Yumenguan Pass was the significantpass on the Silk Road, from where typical food, fruits and culture, religions of the Western Regions were introduced into Central China in the Han Dynasty.

Yumenguan Pass, located on a hillock 90 kilometers (56 miles) northwest of Dunhuang city, is an important pass of the north route on the Silk Road. Yumenguan Pass was also called the "Small Square City". The present city was constructed with rammed earth with two gates respectively in its west and north directions. The wall is 10 meters (10.9 yards) high and its top is 3 meters (3.2 yards) wide and bottom 5 meters (5.4 yards). Attraction Intro: Yumenguan Pass
