One Day to Hanyangling Mausoleum & Xianyang Museum
Route: Hanyangling Mausoleum - Xianyang Museum
Hanyangling Mausoleum is located 30 KM north of Xi'an City. You can take public bus or metro to get there. Tourist Bus No. 4 runs between Xi'an Public Library (Addr: 145 Wei Yang Road, Wei Yang District) and Hanyangling Mausoleum daily. You can take Metro Line 2 to get to Xi'an Public Library easily, also called Shitushuguan. Leave from Exit D, and you can find Tourist Bus No.4.

You can also take Metro Line 14 to Hanyangling Mausoleum. If you start from Xi'an city center, take Line 2 to the North Railway Station (Beikezhan) and transfer to Line 14 at Beikezhan (Beiguangchang) Station, bound for Jichangxi (Airport West), after two stops, getting off at Qingong station, where you will find the shuttle bus to Hanyangling Mausoleum at the entrance of the metro station.
Note: Beikezhan and Beikezhan (Beiguangchang) are two stations. Beikezhan is the station name of Metro Line 2 and Beikezhan (Beiguangchang) is the station name of Metro Line 14. Beikezhan means North Railway Station, Beikezhan (Beiguanchang) means North Square of the North Railway Station. When you get off from Metro Line 2 at Beikezhan, just follow the road signs to find Metro Line 14 at Beikezhan (Beiguanchang) which is about 650 meters north of line 2.

Xianyang Museum
After a visit of 2 to 3 hours in Hanyangling, you will go to the next destination, Xianyang Museum. Take bus No. 5 to Xianyang Railway Station firstly, walk southward for about 650 meters to Kangzhanshizi station, and then take Bus No. 19/No. 56, getting off at Bowuguan (Museum) after 4 stops. Xianyang Museum is located 300 meters east to the bus station.

Highlights:
Hanyangling Mausoleum | It is the joint burial mausoleum of Emperor Jing of Han (188 - 141 BC) and his empress. You can walk along a glass corridor in an underground museum, which is the burial pit of the emperor, to have a close contact with these treasures. Historical items discovered from these pits, such as weapons and daily necessities, are displayed in an exhibition hall, and the most distinctive exhibits are the pottery figures including cavalrymen, warriors, and servants. |
Xianyang Museum | Xianyang Museum is rebuilt on the ruin of Confucius Temple which was first built in 1371. It has a collection of over 20,000 cultural relics focusing on the Qin and Han dynasties (between 221 BC and 200 AD). Over 8,000 relics in nine exhibition halls are displayed daily, the 3000 colored Terracotta Warriors and Horses of Western Han Dynasty (206 BC - 24AD) are the must-sees. |
When you finish your visit in Xianyang Museum, walk northward for about 700 meters to reach the Renmin Road, turn right and walk along the road for about 150 meters, you will find Xianyang Center Hospital Bus Station. Catch Bus No. 53/ No. 13 and get to Yilongjinhewan station after 4 stops. From the station, walk along the Fusu Road toward southeast for about 630 meters, you will find a big crossing where is the start station of Meter Line 1. The station name is Fenghesenlingongyuan, which means Fenghe Forest Park. Metro Line 1 can easily take you back to Xian city center, you may get off at Beidajie and walk to Muslim Bazaar where you will enjoy many delicious local foods.
