8:00 - 9:00 Hotel Pick-up
Welcome to join our Shanghai day trip in mini group. In the morning, your professional English-speaking guide will greet you in the lobby of your hotel at the appointed time. He/she will call you to confirm the exact meeting time before 20:00 on the day before. Please get prepared and begin your full day journey with comfortable clothes and shoes.
9:00 - 10:00 Square of Oriental Pearl Tower & Pudong Sightseeing
Your first stop today is the square of the Oriental Pearl Tower in Pudong New Area. Your guide will introduce this landmark building to you and leave you 30 minutes' free time to explore at your leisurely pace in the square and take some great photos. As the tower is always densely visited by domestic travelers, so the lining up inside usually takes 40 minutes to 1 hour, or even longer. Nice views can also be obtained if you tour around the square.

Don't worry that you will miss the other distinctive skyscrapers in Pudong. Your guide and driver will drive you around the area and make photo stops for you in Shanghai Tower and the World Financial Center. Shanghai Tower ranks as China's tallest building and second only to the world. You will be surely amazed by their unique and majestic appearances.

10:00 - 11:30 Drive to Visit Yu Garden
Afterwards, you will be escorted to Yu Garden. It is Shanghai's best-known ancient private garden built during the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368 - 1911 AD). Inside the garden are zigzag bridges over flowing streams and clear pools, pavilions, towers and terraces with their shadows reflected in the water, which provide a nice place to retreat from the busy city life. You will have at least one hour to enjoy the exquisite garden.

11:30 - 13:00 Yuyuan Old Street & Free time for Lunch
Exit from the garden, you will come to the old street. Walking along the street, you seem to have returned the bustling market of old Shanghai more than 100 years ago. It used to be an important business street that has witnessed the economic and cultural developments of Shanghai, and now it is still a great place for sightseeing, shopping and entertaining. You will enjoy some free time there to hang out.

Also, there are many local snacks and nice restaurants in the area. Please have lunch by yourself and try the local food according to your own taste. Your guide will provide you with suggestions.

13:00 - 14:00 Drive to Visit Former French Concession
Next, we will drive for 15 minutes to arrive at the Former French Concession. With many elegant buildings of European style, it is a nice place to learn about the colonial history of Shanghai and keep away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Follow your guide to have a pleasant walk and pay a visit to Sinan Mansion - one of the most famous residential building complex in the area.

14:00 - 16:00 Drive to Visit Shanghai Museum
After that, we will continue to visit Shanghai Museum, one of China's four greatest museums. It is a large-scaled museum with a collection of over 120,000 pieces of cultural relics, including bronze wares, ceramics, ancient coins, furniture, calligraphy, paintings, etc. The whole building looks like a huge bronze vessel with four floors containing eleven galleries and three exhibition halls.

There are usually quite many visitors in Shanghai Museum, and the time of queueing up for common visitors is about an hour. Good news for you who choose us! We will lead you to enter the museum from fast track entrance.

16:00 - 17:00 Huangpu River Cruise Tour
Huangpu River is the mother river of Shanghai. It is the symbol and a microcosm of the city. Here we specially arrange you to take a one-hour cruise tour to appreciate the two representative profiles of the city along two sides of the river. That is also the most highlight part of your Shanghai day tour. You will feel the city's past through many European buildings on the west and marvel at city's modernity and rapid development on the east.

17:00 - 17:30 Drive to Visit the Bund
After the exciting cruise tour, we will drive you for a few minutes to the Bund. It is a 1500-meter long waterfront promenade along the Huangpu River. It is a must-see spot in Shanghai as well as a great shooting place for charming night views. Your guide will accompany you to visit the Bund and explain the history and development of the area for you.

17:30 - 18:30 Hotel Drop-off
Your memorable Shanghai day trip comes to the end at this point and we will escort you back to your hotel. If you want to enjoy the wonderful night scenes of the Bund, you may stay there for a further stroll and go back by yourself. From the Bund, you can also walk northward for about 20 minutes to the famous Nanjing Road, which attracts quite a few visitors with malls and restaurants. Our guide will offer you the directions.

  • Pick-up Service: Shanghai is a large city. To make sure the morning pick-ups run smoothly, we recommend you stay at a hotel in the downtown area, within the Middle Ring Road of the city. There might be an additional transfer fee if your hotel is beyond the pick-up range. If you are not sure about the pick-up issues, your travel consultant is ready to help.
  • Infant Price: for an infant under 3 years old, this tour is free of charge.
  • Confirmation: Upon receiving your booking request, confirmation will be sent within 12 hours.
  • Payment: Full payment is required at least two days prior to the day trip. We accept payment by PayPal, Credit Card, Alipay, Wechat and Bank Transfer.
  • Cancellation: Your payment is fully refundable if you cancel more than 24 hours prior to the trip. Cancellation within 24 hours or any unused portion after the day trip begins is non-refundable.
  • Since Shanghai Museum is usually not open on Mondays, we will adjust the itinerary with substitutes if your travel date happens to meet Monday.
