Top 10 Water Parks in Shanghai

On the hot days in summer, water parks are always nice places to cool down. Shanghai, located in the Yangtze River Delta and by the East China Sea, is abundant in waterparks with either natural or manmade waterscapes. Here are the top 10 water parks in or near Shanghai, giving you the exciting and refreshing water fun while escaping from the summer heat. The first 5 are in Shanghai while the later 5 are all near Shanghai and can be easily reached.

Dino Beach Water Park

Dino Beach is only opened in the summer vacation from late June to August every year. It is one of the largest water parks in Shanghai, also the nearest one to the downtown. Every summer, Dino Beach would be crowded. Many people go there to drift on the long waterway, play on the supreme artificial wave pool, experience a slide ride down from the Asia’s highest water slide, and feel the extreme cool as large amounts of water pouring down every 8 minutes. There are also other interesting water activities, as well as the parent-child zone with giant cartoon figures.

1. Take Metro Line 12 to Honghua Road Station and then walk westwards for a moment.

Playa Maya Shanghai

Playa Maya is a quite large Shanghai water park. Playing here, you seem to be playing in the sea. It covers a large seaside area in Fengxian District, south of Shanghai, consisting of the mangroves, golden beach, swimming area and boating area. Tourists can enjoy sunbath, or have fun with interesting programs, such as the live CS game by sea and kart racing on the beach. The swimming area allows 10,000 person at most at the same time. At the boating area, you can take the motorboat, battery boat or others to float on the water.

Sanjiagang Seaside Resort is a Shanghai water park close to Pudong Airport. While playing on the beach, you can look up to see the plane flying over from time to time. Themed on The Thousand and One Nights, Hengdian Dream Valley Water World is a Middle East-styled water park near Shanghai.
