Detailed Itinerary
The one day Great Wall hiking tour starts today. Our English-speaking guide and professional driver will pick you up from your hotel at around 07:00 to 07:30 in the morning. The guide will contact you the evening before to confirm the exact meeting time. You will have no more than 5 companions. After meeting all the group members, we will set out for the western segment of Simatai Great Wall.

Simatai West to Jinshanling is one of the most popular Great Wall hiking routes
We will arrive at the foot of the Simatai Great Wall after 2.5 hours. Then please follow our guide to hike along the ramparts and you will reach at the East Five-Window Tower after 40 minutes. You will have a short break there.
Then continue marching westwards to the Jinshanling Great Wall. En route, we will pass by three famous watchtowers, namely Big Jinshan Tower, Small Jinshan Tower, and Black Tower. After another one hour's hiking, we will arrive at the Shalingkou Pass. You may either descend at Shalingkou or continue hiking for another 30 minutes to Zhuanduokou Pass according to your own physical condition.
After you get down from the wall. We will escort you back to the hotel. During the drive, you can have a good rest. This one-day Great Wall hiking tour comes to an end at this point. Thank you for travelling with us.

What You Can See at Jinshanling Great Wall
Unlike Badaling and Mutianyu, seldom repair work was implemented at the Jinshanling Great Wall since its last massive construction work during the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644). Therefore, this section still maintains the original look and reveals a beauty of desolation. As well, Jinshanling can offer you great shots with ramparts winding their way over the mountain ranges and watchtowers in various styles densely distributed along the wall. While hiking, our guide will show you the bricks carved with characters, especially along the eastern segment of Jinshanling, which is another highlight of the Jinshanling Great Wall.

If your hotel is outside the area, there might be an extra cost for the transfer, or you may get to the appointed place to meet the group on your own.
