Where to Go in Hiroshima in October

In early October, visitors may have fun in Saijo Sake Festival in Higashi-hiroshima City, where diverse sakes from whole Japan can be tasted, as well as local snacks. Dahlia and Chrysanthemum Festival is held till mid-late October, when one can appreciate the autumn flowers and one of the most popular places is Serakogen Farm. Chrysanthemum exhibition at Hiroshima Castle is also alluring.

At the end of October, colorful autumn leaves can be admired in Shukkeien Garden, Miyajima, and Taishakukyo Gorge in Hiroshima. On Miyajima Island, Momijidani Park is famous for red leaves, and Mt. Misen is not inferior in any respect. Shimanami Kaido is perfect for cycling and one can cycle along the coastline to Onomichi; and Okunoshima Island is also absorbing for a tour as a paradise of rabbits.
