Greetings, Dear client, and welcome to TravelChinaGuide and to my page. My name is Amy Jian. My hobby is reading, sing, and travelling. I like modern literature and my favorite writer is Zhang Ailing. She is a famous and sensitive writer in China.
I am from the historical city Xi'an. It's really a fantastic city with many famous places of tourist interest such as Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses, Big Wild Goose Pagoda, City Wall, Tang Paradise and Bell Tower. Each site has a long story. If you are interested in Chinese traditions and want to know the details, please come to Xi'an. Our knowledgeable and experienced guide will explain things for you one by one and tell you more.
I work in the flight and train booking center of TravelChinaGuide. I have been in my present job since 2007. I am honored to be able to help guests who come to China for tourism or business.
Every year, we deal with thousands of orders from our clients. Some guests leave me a deep impression. I still remember a remarkable encounter with one of our clients, Mr. Gehad. It was the year of 2008, a very hot evening in July. I had just finished my work and was on my way to catch the bus back home. Two foreigners were speaking with an old policeman at the crossing. Since our senior policemen only know a little simple English, I felt I might be of some help to them. Soon it became apparent that these two tourists were two Germans whos wish to explore the city by themselves, but they lost their way. I advised them to take a taxi to go to Bell Tower. I told them I can flag down a taxi for them and told the taxi driver their destination. But they refused; they just wanted walk by themselves and had a view of the sights. I showed the way on the map.
After thinking a while, I decided to guide them. We walked about an hour to reach Bell Tower. During this time, we talked a lot. We talked about the differences between German and Chinese life and philosophy. When we talked about work in China, they asked my occupation. I told them I worked in a travel agency. They told me they booked Yangtze Cruise Tour with a travel agency named TravelChinaGuide. I was quietly pleased to hear this, and told them I worked for the very same agency. They were amazed and thought I was joking. They thought our office should be in Beijing because they know Beijing is the capital city of China and most famous agencies are located there.
After learning that our head office is in Xi'an, they are longing to visit it. But it was a pity that they had a very early flight on the next day to Chongqing to connect their Yangtze Cruise Tour. They promised that they would introduce our company to people in Germany who wished to visit China. At the end, they asked me to have a coffee with them and wanted to pay for a taxi to take me home. Considering it was so late, I refused them. We simply took pictures and exchanged mail addresses in front of Bell Tower as a souvenir. Now, we still have contact with each other.
Because of our conversation, I realized that as a tour consultant, I still need to improve myself in all expects and enlarge my vocabulary in English. In the future, I wish to do similar favours for my clients.
People in Xi'an city are very friendly, helpful and diligent. We have a very easy and laid-back life here. Now more and more English speaking foreigners are coming to Xi'an to be teachers. We also welcome you if you have a love for teaching.
