 Service of Consular Office in Edinburgh
1) Issue passports or travel documents to Chinese citizens.
2) Issue visas to aliens holding diplomatic or service/official passports, or those qualified for the Chinese diplomatic, courtesy, and service visas.
 All ordinary passport holders visiting the mainland of China are required to submit applications to the Centre (CVASC) in Edinburgh. CVASC will collect visa fee on behalf of the consular office, and return passport to applicants. The center will also charge an independent service fee. 

Before going there to submit the application, all applicants need to fill in the application form on CVASC's website and then make an appointment.

Meanwhile, diplomatic or service/official passport holders, or applicants qualified for the Chinese diplomatic, courtesy, service visas should still submit their applications directly to the consular office.

 Tips:
1. Online appointment is compulsory for submission of application. 
2. Applicants aged 14 - 70 should lodge the applicantion by themselves.  
3. CVASC provides service for collecting the visa by post.
