30-Day Visa Free Policy

China and Thailand have made an agreement on mutual visa exemption. From March 1, 2024, citizens of Thailand enjoy visa-free entry to China Mainland and can stay for up to 30 days (no more than 90 days every 180 days).

Besides, Thai people can enter and stay in Hong Kong or Macau, China for no more than 30 days without applying for a visa.

Visa Application

All the ordinary passport holders of Thailand who want to stay in mainland China for more than 30 days should submit their applications to Chinese Visa Application Service Center, the CVASC in Bangkok or Chiang Mai. Postal service for applications is currently not available.

Applicants holding Diplomatic, Service or Official passport and planning to stay more than 30 days should still submit the application directly to the Embassy.

Meanwhile, the CVASC office provides document authentication service at a certain cost. Foreigners in need of this service should go to the CVASC instead of the embassy while Chinese applicants are still required to apply for the authentication service from the embassy.
