15-Day Visa Free Entry

The Dutch with ordinary passports who go to the Chinese mainland for business, travel, visiting family or friends, or transit enjoy a 15 days visa-free entry from December 1, 2023 to end of 2025. It is still necessary to apply for a visa if staying for more than 15 days.

Diplomatic passport holders can visit China Mainland visa-free for a stay of less than 30 days. Holders of official or service passports should still apply for a visa at the Embassy or Consulate-General.

The Dutch are permitted a maximum of 90 days of stay in Hong Kong and Macau, China.

Notes for the Visa-Free Policy

1. Chinese immigration inspection authorities will check the purpose of visit. Thus it is advised to take supportive documents upon entering China, such as the invitation letter, flight tickets and hotel booking confirmation, which will help to verify your purpose of visit.

2. Dutch people holding ordinary passports should make sure that their passports are valid during their stay in China. Travel documents, temporary or emergency certificate holders are not eligible for the visa-free entry policy.

3. Dutch citizens eligible for visa-free entry to China can depart from any country outside China.

4. Tourist groups are also eligible for the visa-free entry policy.

5. An extension can be made if you have to stay for more than 15 days. You need to submit the extension submission to the Chinese exit & entry administration of the public security departments before the 15-day stay permit expires.

6. There are no restrictions on the number of visa-free entries or the total days of multiple entries.

7. Visitors are not allowed to engage in activities inconsistent with the purpose of entry.
