30-Day Visa Free Policy

From December 1, 2023 to end of 2025, holders of ordinary passports from Malaysia who go to China for business, sightseeing, visiting family and transiting for less than 15 days, are exempted from visa application. Excitingly, the duration of stay will be extended to 30 days from Nov. 30, 2024 and exchange visits (F type visa) will also be allowed.  If staying for more than 30 days, a visa applied from the CVASC is necessary. In addition, Malaysians are exempted from visa to HK for a 90-day stay and visa to Macau for a 30-day stay.

Besides, Malaysians holding diplomatic and official passports can enter and stay in China for less than 30 days without China visa. 
 

Notice on the Visa-Free Policy

1. As Chinese immigration inspection authorities will check the purpose of visit, visitors are required to provide supportive documents like the invitation letter, flight tickets and hotel booking confirmation which will help to verify your purpose of visit.
 
2. Only valid ordinary passports are available for the visa-free policy. Travel documents, temporary or emergency certificate holders will be denied entry to China.
 
3. Malaysians eligible for visa-free entry to China can depart from any country outside China.
 
4. The policy also applies to tourist groups.
 
5. If you need to stay longer than 15 days, you can apply for an extension. Before your 15-day stay expires, you must submit the extension application to the Chinese exit & entrance administration of the public security departments.
 
6. There are no restrictions on the number of visa-free entries or the total days of multiple entries.
 
7. Visitors are not allowed to engage in activities inconsistent with the purpose of entry.

Notice on the CVASC

Chinese Visa Application Service Centre (CVASC) is responsible for receiving applications from all ordinary passport holders and citizens of the third country who stay in Malaysia with appropriate permit to to mainland China, and visa applications to Hong Kong and Macau, China.

Malaysians can enter Hong Kong and stay for no more than 90 days and Macau for no more than 30 days without a visa. If stay longer, visa applications are needed and should be submitted to the CVASC.

Visit Hong Kong & Macau

Malaysian passport holders are exempt from a visa to Hong Kong for a maximum stay of 90 days and to Macau for a maximum stay of 30 days. 

  Please contact Embassy of Malaysia in China if Malaysian citizens have troubles there.
