The Republic of Vanuatu is an independent democratic country, 1,300 miles northeast of Sydney, Australia. It is composed of about 80 islands in the Y-shape, of which 66 are inhabited. It is located in the southwest Pacific with an area of 12,190 square kilometers. English and French are the official languages.
It is typically the tropical marine climate, so it is thought as the paradise of diving. There is only one volcano that can be viewed from a not faraway place. The rich indigenous cultural and the alluring landscape invite tourists from all over the world, which also makes tourism the backbone of the economy. Generally speaking, the high travel season lasts from November to next April.
Visa information:
Visa is not required for Chinese citizens at present. However, visa to destination is a must for Chinese exiting China. In the case when the Vanuatu is the only destination, and transit is needed in Australia and the transit visa issued by Australia is also a necessary, then applying for a visa in the embassy in China becomes required. After entry, Chinese citizens can stay there for one month. If extension is needed, it can be done in three times and one month one time.
Useful tips:
It is a good way to connect the flight to Vanuatu via Australia. Alternatively, Hongkong, Japan and Fiji are optional. The inspection on animals and plants is quite strict. You'd better not take sealed packages of food before entering the country. Otherwise, declaration to customs must be done in advance to avoid the unnecessary trouble. Similar examination is carried out in Vanuatu.
Dual nationality:
It doesn't recognize dual nationality. Foreigners living there for consecutive ten years are eligible to apply to get the nationality. Babies born in there are taken for granted of foreign nationalities provided that the parents are both of foreign nationalities. If one parent is Vanuatuan, it is free for him to choose the nationality.
