 The general information:
The Republic of Uzbekistan is a landlocked country in the middle of Central Asia with an area of 447,400 square kilometers. It is a most populous country in Central Asia with about 130 ethnic groups. It shares the borders with Kazakhstan, Kirghizstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan. Placed importantly on the crossing of the Central Europe and Central Asia, it connects the different directions together. It was once the convergence of ancient merchants and the centre of the exchanges.

Uzbekistan is of the typical continental weather; it is warm and rainy in spring; hot and day in summer. The average temperature is 37 degrees centigrade in summer and it can reach up to 10 degrees centigrade below zero in winter. It is advised to wear sun-block to prevent from getting sunburnt when traveling.

All foreign nationals are required to apply for a visa before entry.

The capital Tashkent is the largest city in Central Asia, a mixture of the old and the modern. There stand the beautiful gardens, fountains, museums and theatres.

Samarkand is one of the world's oldest cities with a history of 2,500 years. Being the core of the ancient Silk Road, it still possesses a number of places of interests with oriental features. Hundreds of architectural monuments, the Great Mosques and mausoleums are all wonders.

The Tashkent airport is in the urban area. There are 3 scheduled flights between Tashkent and Beijing and 4 flights between Tashkent and Urumqi per week.

 The bilateral relationship:
On January 2, 1992, the diplomatic relationship was set up between Uzbekistan and China. The cooperation and investment have been involved in many fields. The leaders from both sides have paid frequent state visits and learned from each other. Both expect the brighter future.
