The Embassy in Beijing is also closed during Chinese Spring Festival, Labor Day and National Day.
Visa Information and Procedure
For all types of visa application, it requires 4 working days to process an ordinary one and there is no express service. All visitors should obtain a valid visa prior to travel except those who have bilateral visa abolition agreement with Tanzania or there is no embassy in and around. Fee is CNY415 per person.
Types of Visa: business type, visitor type and tourist type. Chinese citizens in possession of diplomatic passport or service passport do not need to apply for visas if their stays are not longer than 180 days.
Notes: All passengers leaving Tanzanian airports must pay a USD 30 departure tax. Major entry points in the country include Der es Salaam, Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar International Airports, Namanga, Sirari, Horohoro and Taveta.
Notes for Travelers
It is advisable for visitors to take precautionary measures to avoid mosquitoes. The International Certificate of Vaccination for yellow fever must be shown when entry.
Featuring tropical climate and lofty mountain scenery, Tanzania is famed for Mt. Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar Island. Except for highland areas, it never gets cold and the coast areas are much warmer.
In general, visitors can get there at any time. June to September is the cool season while October to March is hot and December to February gets the highest temperature in the year. Mid March to May and October to December are the rainy seasons.
