  The general information:
The Republic of Rwanda is a landlocked country in Central Africa with an area of 26,338 square kilometers. It is the most densely-populated country in Africa. Placed in the east Africa plateau, it is characterized as the tropical savanna climate, the average temperate is 19 degrees centigrade.

On January 18, 1999, the President declared that English would take the place of French and worked as the official language.

Rwanda is one of the most undeveloped countries. About 92 percent of inhabitants are engaged in farming. The higher oil price and the serious drought led to the slow growth in economy. Consequently, the government adopted quite a number of profitable measures by constructing more basic facilities, attracting more foreign investment and business to stabilize the economy.

There is no problem of communication in Rwanda and the outside world. Cell phone and internet connections are available in big cities and towns.

International ATMs are not available in Rwanda. Credit cards are not popularly accepted there. Traveler's check can only be cashed at the commercial banks. The wire transfer and west union can be done in several banks.

The national flag is colored in three. Blue symbolizes peace, yellow means the great efforts that Rwandan people make to develop economy, and green represents prosperity and hope. The shining sun on the upper right reflects unity, transparency and elimination of ignorance.

 The diplomatic relationship:
Rwanda takes the peaceful, neutral and nonaligned stand in diplomacy, they stress on the friendly bond and the unity of Africa. On November 12, 1971, the diplomatic relationship was established between Rwanda and China. Heads from two states pay official visits and the bilateral relations keeps on sustainable development.

Please contact China Embassy in Rwanda if Rwandan citizens will go to China.
