 Bilateral Relationship:
On March 22nd, 1971, China established the diplomatic relations with Kuwait. After that, the two countries cooperated very well in politics, economy, culture, military and many other aspects.

As a matter of fact, as early as 1955, the non-government trade between Kuwait and China has been developed. After 1971, their trade communications became more and more and the trade volume also went up very fast. In 2005, the bilateral trade volume is around 1649 million dollars.

Among those Arabian countries, Kuwait provided most concessional loans to China. Since 1982, Kuwait Arabian Economic Development Funds has provided loans of about 780 million dollars, which was used to support 32 great projects. In 1998, South China suffered a big flood. It donated 3 million dollars to China.
