Currently, Hangzhou metro line 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 and 16 have been in service partially. Line 1, the first one in Zhejiang Province, includes a main line and a branch line that connects Xiacheng, Xiasha and Linping Districts. Line 2 links Chaoyang and Liangzhu with 33 stations. The operating part of line 4 makes a connection between Puyan and Pengbu via East Railway Station. Hangzhou subway line 5 connects Guniangqiao and Jinxing, passing Grand Canal. The subway line 16 travels between Jiuzhou Street and Lüting Road, passing 12 stations. Line 6 travels between West Guihua Road and Qianjiang Century City, passing Fuyang Coach Station, Wildlife Park and Chinese Medical University. Besides, Hangzhou metro line 3, 7, 8, 9 and 10 will operate in the near future.
 

Lines in Operation:

 Line 1: It has a main line and a branch line, running from Linping and Xiasha Jiangbin to Xianghu, Xiaoshan District. Line 1 passes by many large passenger distributing centers in the city, such as Wulin Square, East Railway StationMain Railway Station, and the South Bus Station.

Total Length: 65 kilometers (40 miles)

Main Line: Xianghu – Binkang Road – Xixing – Binhe Road – Jiangling Road – Jinjiang –  Wujiang Road – Chengzhan – Ding'an Road – Longxiangqiao – Fengqi Road – Wulin Square – West Lake Cultural Square – Datieguan – Zhalongkou – East Railway Station – Pengbu – Qibao – Jiuhe Road – Jiubao – Passenger Transport Center – West Xiasha – Jinshahu – Gaosha Road – Wenze Road - South Wenhai Road – Yunshui - Xiasha Jiangbin – Hangzhou Grand Convention and Exhibition Center – Gangcheng Avenue – Nanyang – Xiangyang Road – Xiaoshan International Airport

 Line 5: Guniangqiao - Jinxing

Length: 56 kilometers (35 miles)

Route: Guniangqiao - Shuangqiao - South Railway Station - Middle Tonghui Road - North Yucai Road - People's Square - Jinji Road - Bo'ao Road - Binkang Road - Jianghui Road - Jucai Road - Changhe - Nanxingqiao - Houchaomen - Jiangcheng Road - Chengzhan (Hangzhou Railway Station) - Wan'anqiao - North Jianguo Road - Baoshanqiao - Datieguan - Hangyang - Xiangjisi Road - Xiwen Street - Shanxian - Gongchenqiao East - Grand Canal - Hemu - Pingshui Street - Sanba - Zhejiang University (Zijingang Campus) - Jiangcun - Wuchang - Yongfu - Hangzhou Normal University (Cangqian Campus) - Liangmu Road - Chuangjing Road - Gexiang - Lüting Road - Jinxing

Length: 40 kilometers (25 miles)

Route: Olympic Sports Center - Xingyi - Mingxing Road - Jianshe Third Road - Xinxing Road - Xinhan Road - Xinjie - Hehuan Road - Yingzhou - Kanshan - Xingang - Xiaoshan International Airport - Yongsheng Road - Xinzhen Road - Yipeng - Tangxin Road - Middle Qingliu Road - Qicheng Road - Jiangdong Second Road

 Line 16: Jiuzhou Street ↔ Lüting Road

Length: 35 kilometers (22 miles)

Route: Jiuzhou Street - Lin’an Square - Zhejiang A&F University - Qingshan Lake - Babaili - Qingshan Lake Science and Technology City - Nanfeng - South Lake - Zhongtai - Yuhang Road - Fengxin Road - Lüting Road


 

Ticket Fare:

The fare varies from the travel distance. The charge complies with the rules below:
CNY2 for the first 4 kilometers (2.5 miles); CNY1 for every additional 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) between 4-12 kilometers (2.5-7.5 miles); CNY1 for every additional 6 kilometers (3.7 miles) between 12-24 kilometers (7.5-15 miles); CNY1 for every additional 8 kilometers (5miles) beyond 24 kilometers (15miles).

Note: For children under 1.3 meters (4 feet), they can ride all Hangzhou subway lines for free. However, they are not allowed to take subway alone and should be accompanied by an adult.
 

Ticket Types:

1. Single Journey Ticket: It is valid on the day of issue and is recyclable. One person, one card.

2. Tourist Metro Pass: It is available at the Customer Service Center of all metro stations. The validity duration is within 6 months since the day of issue.
A. One Day Pass: It costs CNY15. Passengers can use it for unlimited rides on metro within consecutive 24h from the first use.
B. Three Day Pass: It costs CNY40. Passengers can use it for unlimited rides on metro within consecutive 72h from the first use.

3. Passengers can also pay with regular IC card, and Hangzhou Multifunction Card (Hang Zhou Tong).


 

Planned Metro Lines:

 Line 3: It will be in operation in 2022. Running in west - east direction, Line 3 links major stations such as West Railway Station, Xixi National Wetland Park, Dragon Sports Center, Wulin Square and Xintiandi.
Length: 49 kilometers (30 miles)

 Line 8: Its trial operation is scheduled in June, 2021. Passengers can get to South Wenhai Road, Gongshang University, Qiaotoubao, Toupeng, Qiantang Railway Station and Xinwan Road, etc.
Length: 17 kilometers (11 miles)

 Line 9: Its trial operation is scheduled in June, 2021. There are 21 stations along the metro line, including Long'anhu, Sijiqing, Yuhang Railway Station, Coach Center, Qibao Old Street and Fishermen's Wharf.
Length: 30 kilometers (18 miles)

 Line 10: It runs between Zhejiang University and Xinxing Road, passing by Yugu Road, North Coach Center and International Expo Center etc. It will be in service in 2022.
